Resolve Psychology aims to provide a range of services to individuals and families to allow them to live meaningful and fulfilling lives.  Our small team are Auckland based and have a range of experience from providing individual therapy to intensive behavioural support in homes, schools, and residential settings.

 

Anthony John

Registered Psychologist

Anthony is a registered psychologist working in New Zealand who has a number of years’ experience working with individuals of all ages via a number of different working roles and therapeutic modalities. Anthony has experience working with young people and adults with a range of needs and difficulties such as anxiety, anger and aggression, depression, life transitions, parenting, social skill development, neurodevelopmental challenges, and experiences of trauma and abuse. He has particular experience working with young people who may be hesitant to initially engage in therapy and is passionate about connecting with young people in a meaningful way to see them thrive. Anthony also has significant experience and passion working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, ADHD, and those living with the impact of a traumatic brain injury.

Anthony has also consulted on a number of community projects for at-risk youth and has experience engaging with a variety of stakeholders across public and private sectors including schools, government ministries, and local iwi.

Anthony strives to engage with his clients in a meaningful and genuine manner which combines his therapeutic training with compassion, humour, and understanding. His approach adopts a number of different psychological modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA).  Anthony is also trained to facilitate the Triple P parenting programme (Level 4 Standard, Teen, and Stepping Stones).

Jennifer Skinner (currently on maternity leave)

Jennifer is a registered psychologist with a number of years’ experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and traumatic brain injury.  Jennifer has worked in homes, schools, and residential settings using her extensive knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analysis to provide lasting behaviour change for individuals, families, and staff.

Jennifer has extensive experience in functional analysis of problem behaviour and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and is also trained to provide the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS). Jennifer’s approach combines Applied Behaviour Analysis, Positive Behaviour Support, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to achieve the best outcome for individuals.
